"Velvet Revolver -- the supergroup featuring Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, former Guns N'
Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, and Suicidal Tendencies' guitarist Dave Kushner -- made their live debut
last night at the celebrity-filled El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. The band kicked off their six-song set with the Sex Pistols'
'Bodies.' Next was 'Set Me Free,' their single from the Hulk soundtrack, which is already garnering heavy spins on L.A. rock
radio stations. Velvet Revolver finished with an encore of Nirvana's 'Negative Creep,' served up special for the band's former
drummer Dave Grohl." Story courtesy of Rolling Stone.

This news is a little old but fairly interesting: "My name is Kris. I went to see the Foo Fighters
yesterday [early June] in Grand Rapids, Michigan. [After the show we found] the tour busses so we went over there. We
waited for like 2 and a half hours and finally Taylor [Hawkins] came out! He said 'Aww, you guys are waitin' in the rain
and everything. Dave will be right out dudes!' So then Taylor and Dave Grohl himself walked around the corner of the tour
bus. They shook our hands, signed our shit, and he talked to me! I asked when the next Nirvana release would be out and he
said sometime next year. He didn't know for sure, but he said there will be a compilation CD and then a boxed set. I asked
about the studio version of 'Old Age' and he said he couldn't really remember it. He said 'How does that one go again' - so
I hummed it and sang the lyrics I could think of, and he said 'Oh yeah!' and that it will be on there in 2 different forms!"
Thanks to Kris for the story and also thanks to Jamie.

Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit has been named the best song of the past 25 years by VH-1:
"The Seattle band's groundbreaking grunge anthem is No. 1 on VH1's list of the '100
Greatest Songs of the Past 25 Years.' The whole countdown will air over five nights, starting at 10 p.m.
EDT Monday on the video music channel. The series will feature clips of videos and performances by the
artists along with interviews from musicians and celebrities discussing why the songs matter. Of 'Smells
Like Teen Spirit,' Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan said: 'That was really a breakthrough for a great
scene that had been going on for a long time up in Seattle. And it was kind of another victory, I think,
for a misunderstood music, you know. The dam broke when Teen Spirit came out.' " The list was
determined by VH-1 executives and loses considerable credibility given the fact that Eminem made it to #4!

James, Travis, Eduardo, Doris of VH-1, Jes and a bunch of others for the news. You can view the
