NFC News High quality Nirvana vinyls being issued
From LiveDaily: "Nirvana's three major-label albums--Nevermind, In Utero and MTV Unplugged--are being reissued this year on 180-gram, audiophile-quality vinyl for the first time.

All three records are scheduled for a 2009 release, with Nevermind coming first, according to a Billboard report. However, no official release date has been confirmed.

The three-album catalog, remastered by Bernie Grubman, is being released by Original Recordings Group, a vinyl imprint that got its start reissuing old jazz and classical albums.

ORG founder Monti Olson said he pitched the idea of releasing the bulk of the Nirvana catalog on vinyl to Universal Music and the band's management, Michael Meisel and John Silva, who approved the deal."

NFC News Krist: No more unreleased Nirvana songs
In the Washington State Legacy project, mentioned in an earlier story, Krist states that Nirvana fans shouldn't expect any new Nirvana albums with unreleased songs:

"There are no more unreleased Nirvana songs. 'There’s not going to be any new Nirvana records,' Novoselic told the Washington State’s Legacy Project (via Seattle Post-Intelligencer). 'What there is, is video. There’s a lot of video.' Novoselic wouldn’t elaborate the content or nature of the videos, nor did he have any release dates in mind."

NFC News New Jack Endino interview
Great new interview with Jack Endino posted at rocknrolldating.com.

The interview was conducted by none other than Daniel House.

Snippet from the interview:

D. House: Your work on Nirvana’s Bleach album came from you having worked on the original demo, much of that later showed up on Incesticide? How was it that you initially got connected with them?

Jack: It was word of mouth, I think. Nirvana was a couple of years after Soundgarden and Green River. The first Nirvana recording I did was in January 1988 and they just called me up and, they didn’t have a band name it was just Kurt and Krist and Dale Crover on drums and Kurt wanted to record some songs and I think he had heard the Screaming Life EP that had come out just a few months before that? I don’t know exactly how Kurt heard of me, to call me up in Seattle, when he lived in Olympia at the time.
