NFC News Krist Novoselic and Charles Peterson to attend opening of EMP exhibit
On April 15, there will be a special member preview of the Nirvana exhibit at the Experience Music Project museum in Seattle. The event is set to be attended by Krist Novoselic, Charles Peterson, producer Steve Fisk who worked with Nirvana, and Mark Pickerel from the Streaming Trees who also worked with the band members.

NFC News New previously unreleased footage of Kurt and Courtney
Hit So Hard, a new documentary about former Hole drummer Patty Schemel apparently features previously unreleased and unseen footage of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain singing a cover of the song "Stinking of You".

From NME: Candid home footage recorded by Schemel of Cobain and Love, including footage of them playing 'Stinking of You', is featured.

"Kurt used to hang around us, 'cos he hated his band [Nirvana]," Love says in the film when discussing the last year of Cobain's life.


All four original Hole members are set to reunite for the first time in 13 years at the New York premiere of the film on March 28.

NFC News Nirvana-related statue to be unveiled in Aberdeen
In Kurt Cobain's home town of Aberdeen, WA, a stylized guitar sculpture inspired by Cobain and Nirvana is set to be unveiled on April 5 to mark the 17th anniversary of Cobain's death in 1994.

The statue will be presented at a public event that begins at 1 PM at the park next to the Young Street Bridge in North Aberdeen (US).

The sculpture, designed by Kim and Lora Malakoff, will be 8 1/2 feet tall, and will also incorporate lyrics from the Nirvana song "On A Plain."

NFC News New Foo Fighters documentary to be screened in cinemas worldwide
The new Foo Fighters documentary Back and Forth will be shown in selected theatres around in the world on April 6/7, followed by a live concert in 3D.

FOO FIGHTERS BACK AND FORTH chronicles the 16 year history of the Foo Fighters: from the band's very first songs created as cassette demos Dave Grohl recorded during his tenure as Nirvana's drummer, through its ascent to their Grammy-winning, multi-platinum, arena and stadium headlining status as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. (...] The new record marks the Foos' first full-length effort with legendary producer Butch Vig, with whom Grohl worked on Nirvana's classic album Nevermind.

The film includes footage from the studio where the band worked with Pat Smear and Krist Novoselic on their new album (Pat is currently a full-time member of the band).

NFC News Hormoaning EP to be re-released on Record Store Day
As part of the annual Record Store Day initiative, Nirvana's Hormoaning is set to be re-released on vinyl. The EP, originally only sold on Nirvana's 1992 tour of the Pacific Rim, will now be available in selected record stores on April 16.

This re-release is limited to just 6,000 copies.

NFC News New Nirvana live recording surfaces
For the first time in quite some time, a new Nirvana show has surfaced from 1991 from Lawrence, Kansas. The recording includes what is believed to be the first known performance of Curmudgeon. You can find out more information here.

NFC News "It's Kind of a Funny Story" - now on DVD and Blu Ray
Recently released on DVD and Blu Ray, It's Kind of a Funny Story, based on a novel by former Nirvana webmaster Ned Vizzini.

The movie features Zach Galifianakis who hosted SNL just this past Saturday as well as Keir Gilchrist and Emma Roberts.
