[Metallica] Kirk: I became a woman, but then I switched back [Metallica] because it wasn't fulfilling enough ;-) [Metallica] Lars: I just tried to chill out basically [Metallica] the Black Albumn and the whole tour was pretty [Metallica] exhausting so it was the first time we got to [Metallica] spend some time away from each other [Metallica] which was very healthy for us and it was a great [Metallica] opportunity to chill. [Metallica] Kirk: when I was 5 I was constantly drawn to my [Metallica] brothers Beatles albums more so for the covers [Metallica] than anything else. [Metallica] And it so happened that I liked the music [Metallica] Lars, My dad owned a jazz club in Copenhagen [Metallica] and I he was also reviewing and writing about [Metallica] jazz music in Danish newspaper so there was [Metallica] always Miles DAvis, Jonny Coltrane playing around [Metallica] the house [Metallica] then as I was getting older I started getting into [Metallica] English pop bands, like Sweet and Slade [Metallica] and then I went and saw my first Deep Purple [Metallica] concert in 1983 and that was it! [Metallica] $ga [AWWCDave ] IRC Asks:Taking into account the unfortunate loss of Cliff, how does Jason feel now that he has been a member of the band for so long, does he still feel that he is the ODD one out? [Metallica] LarsL until we get out backup singers Jason [Metallica] will always be the new kid in the band forever and ever [Metallica] BUT, you gotta remember that he's been with [Metallica] Metallica for 10 years now [Metallica] and Cliff was with Metallica for 3.5 [Metallica] so Jason has definitely put some time in! [Metallica] I think he definitely feels by James and me [Metallica] taking a baby step back and letting the other [Metallica] two guys in, he feels part of what is going on [Metallica] and a little more respected [Metallica] And the whole musical trip for the band, he's not [Metallica] sitting as uncomfortably as he used to [Metallica] So all in all he feels much better [Metallica] Sorry, And the whole musical trip he does outside the band! .... [Metallica] Lars: I was up in Seattle a couple of years ago [Metallica] and ended up playing Sean Allison [Metallica] Alice in chains [Metallica] drum kit [Metallica] and really liked the feel of smaller drums. (I always knew you had it in you) [Metallica] James: being a lot more relaxed in the studio [Metallica] and having the songs worked out for alonger time [Metallica] had a lot to do with it [Metallica] Just breaking down some of the studio technical [Metallica] rules being out in the tracking room [Metallica] standing with a cold microphone six inches away [Metallica] being in the control room ..... [Metallica] being able to concentrate on the lyrics [Metallica] instead of where I'm supposed to stand [Metallica] Theses lyrics also helped because they are so [Metallica] from the core inside that it was a lot more [Metallica] emotion to be put into it.
