Tonight there's a party to celebrate the release of legendary photographer Charles Peterson's
new book: "The Touch Me I'm Sick book launch party is Thursday night October
23rd at Seattle's legendary Crocodile Cafe with Girltrouble, The Briefs and DJ Bruce Pavitt - 9pm
till late. It's only 6 bucks (to cover the bands) and there will be a free raffle of goodies
(including your very own photo shoot by moi!). Come and say hello to my mother! Check out Thursday's
Stranger, Seattle P.I. and Weekly for more details." Thanks to Charles for the info.
"Courtney Love appeared in juvenile court on Thursday (October 16), to try and
convince a judge that she is fit to care for her child, according to E! Online. Frances Bean Cobain,
the 11-year-old daughter of Love and late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, was taken from Love and placed
in the custody of her paternal grandmother [Cobain's mother, Wendy O' Connor], after Love was arrested
for being under the influence of a controlled substance on October 2. No decision was reached at Thursday's
hearing. Love was seen trying to enter the home of former boyfriend [and Nirvana manager] Jim Barber when
L.A. police arrested her. A few hours after she posted bail and was released, Love was reportedly hospitalized
for an alleged overdose of the painkiller OxyContin. Love faces up to a year in jail on the drug charges. Her
arraignment is scheduled for October 31." Story

The current single by the brilliant band Evanescence, Going Under, features a cover of Nirvana's
Heart-Shaped Box. The acoustic cover was recorded live for radio 105.9 'The X', WXDX-FM Pittsburgh,
PA. The single also features an acoustic version of Going Under from a different session. The band
is currently on tour in Europe.
Listen to their Nirvana cover here.
The October 2003 issue of Guitar World features Kurt Cobain on the cover and has a Nirvana
cover-story inside: The Kurt Cobain 'lost interview' and a piece on the making of Nirvana's
In Utero album. Basically, the magazine celebrates the 10th anniversary of the album
in an article written by Jim DeRogatis (who also conducted a lengthy interview with Cobain
in late 1993). In addition there's a piece by Heavier Than Heaven author Charles R.
Cross talking about the album's influence, and there's photos by Charles Peterson from his
brand new book. Thanks to 'RetardGirl' for the news and info. View the cover here.
Oops! She did it again ... "Rocker Courtney Love was charged with being under
the influence of a 'controlled substance' after she was caught breaking windows in the middle of
the night during a burglary investigation, authorities said on Friday. The Los Angeles Times said
that after Love was freed on $2,500 bail she was found by police in Beverly Hills in a condition
that warranted her being rushed to a local hospital for treatment of an unexplained 'medical emergency.'
Officers responding to calls of a possible burglary suspect at 2:38 a.m. PDT (5:38 a.m. EDT) on Thursday
found Love standing in the middle of a Los Angeles street and detained her, police spokeswoman Renee
Montoya said in a statement." Story
